Professional Development Programme (PDP)

The Professional Development Programme (PDP) is available for UK graduates, or degree students, wanting to progress to Chartered Membership via a structured and assessed route.

The PDP develops and assesses candidates' occupational competence within a framework of support from the employer and a CIOB approved assessor.

PDP Assessors

To complete PDP all candidates must provide evidence of job/occupational competence in a number of prescribed occupational activities. This evidence must be assessed by an Assessor approved by CIOB. The assessor needs to be a Chartered member of CIOB or another construction related institute.

They will be required to attend an induction which are held throughout the year. Alternatively, you may decide to appoint an independent assessor. For further information regarding assessor training dates or appointment of independent assessors, please use the contact details below.

The Professional Review

PDP candidates are able to progress through the PDP at their own pace. On successful completion of the programme candidates are automatically eligible for the Professional Review.

Contact one of the Professional Development Programme team on Tel: 01344 630716 or Email: pdp@ciob.org.uk to find out more, or download and complete application form MP (below) and send it to PDP, CIOB, Englemere, Kings Ride, Ascot, Berkshire SL5 7TB.
